USING INTERNET GADGETS

In the first years of the 21st century, computers have been transformed in size, shape, and above all in their utility. The pace of these changes challenges young computer natives but is overwhelming to those of us who endeavor to remain young at heart. In this 5 week course we will introduce the basics of the operating systems and the hardware which enables these various forms of computers to retrieve an ever expanding amount of information. We will use members of the Modesto PC Users Group to share their knowledge and demonstrate their own gadgets. Many of the most useful apps will be demonstrated and others will be recommended.

Above all, MICL members are encouraged to bring their smartphones, tablets, chromebooks, and laptop computers to interact with the class leaders and each other. (Android and Apple users will be separated to minimize confusion and antagonism). MICL members who participate can expect to learn how to better use their internet gadgets to do what they want to do. They will feel more comfortable, less frustrated, and more competent in using these unique machines.
